COUNCILS SUSTAINABLE WATER CHALLENGE
Sustainable Water Challenge 2008
The Sustainable Water Challenge (SWC) provides an opportunity for New South Wales (NSW) Councils to showcase local projects and gain recognition for their hard work and innovation. The SWC is hosted by the WSUD in Sydney Program and in partnership with Sydney Metropolitan CMA and Stormwater Industry Association Inc.
Entries opened 28 May 2008 for the annual Sustainable Water Challenge. The event celebrates leading NSW councils who are dedicated to water sensitive urban design (WSUD) and/or sustainable urban water management.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Project entries will be judged and awards allocated in the following 9 categories:

Eligibility: Projects must be undertaken directly or commissioned by councils situated in NSW only. All must demonstrate council’s commitment to the sustainable management of water. Projects entered in previous year’s SWC will not be considered. Projects must have been started by June 2006.
Submission: All entries must be by way of a brief project report that will be used for judging purposes, inclusion in the seminar proceedings and publication on the website. (max. 3 pages plus pictures, designs etc.).
Short-listed Projects: Short-listed projects will be notified late August 2008. All short listed councils must provide a brief power point presentation (maximum 5 slides). Presentations (5 minutes maximum) will be given followed by a “Question and Answer” Session at the Seminar to be held on 18 September 2008 . Councils will need to nominate a presenter who will receive free access to the event.
Award Winners : Category Winners and Runners Up will be awarded a plaque and receive commendation and promotion via the WSUD in Sydney Program and SWC Event Partners. Further, winners will be featured in a press release that will be distributed via relevant media.
COST:
Submitting an entry to the SWC is free and open to all NSW councils.

Friday 29 August 2008 – Short-listed projects notified
Wednesday 10 September 2008 – Seminar & Sites Visit registration/ cancellation deadline

Friday 19 September 2008 – Sites Visit
