Program Partnerships

The social research underpinning Transition to Water Sensitive Urban Design: The Melbourne Story determined that capacity building interventions needed to include a bridging mechanism role.  That is, in Melbourne, bridging organisations coordinated the following:
  • Collective problem framing with on-ground practitioners;
  • Working with local universities to find research based solutions;
  • Cross sectoral (government, industry and research) engagement ensuring the research better reflected what was required by on-ground practitioners.

Using this model, the following program partnerships were developed strategically (National, State and Local levels within Government, Research and Industry) to leverage off and support capacity interventions within the region; while considering limited WSUD Program resourcing of $100,00 per annum.
